Yes, you can cook our special mushrooms, fresh, just like you would cook the gourmets, like button, enoki or shiitake. As mentioned, very high heat can degrade psilocybin – most of our extraction techniques use no heat or low heat.

However, you absolutely can cook with mushrooms and have a great experience. I would not recommend cooking fresh mushrooms if your goal and intention is microdosing, as this is too difficult to weigh and dose.

Cooking With Mushrooms

How to weigh and dose out fresh mushrooms:

The general guideline is fresh mushroom weight x 10% = dried mushroom weight

So, if you want the equivalent of 1 gram of dried mushrooms, you’ll need 10 grams of fresh mushrooms.

Should I chop up the mushrooms?

That’s totally up to you!

What kind of oil should I use?

Technically, you can use any type of cooking oil or butter. I try to stick with either butter, coconut oil or avocado oil for cooking.

How should I cook them?

So many ways! What are your favorite recipes? Start with something simple and quick cooking, like an omelet. Try to stick with low heat when you add in the mushrooms, and do not cook the mushrooms for a long time.
